Pink or Blue? Men don’t wear pink. There are some myths that are not true but are infused so deep with in us that these myths have actually become universal truths. Have you ever wondered whenever we go kids shopping, we tend to buy pink for girls and blue for boys or for that matter future parents tend to get their nursery rooms decorated according to the gender? Why do the rooms of all girls have butterflies and fairies in pink and boys have cars and toy guns? Ever wondered when boys cry, the elders say ‘oh come-on, boys don’t cry’, why, boys don’t have emotions?

Don’t worry, this write up won’t be about questions only, but it triggers a thought in mind, is there really a generalization in the way a man and woman has to live in the society? Are there norms which they have to follow according to the reactions of people.  Why can’t a man act like a woman emotionally or vice versa… let’s see the general myths surrounding these both genders and then you can think about it.

Pink And Blue

some myths that are not true

It’s a general thing that girls like Pink and Boys Blue, well hello people wake up!! There is no truth to this. Agreed that girls have a little preference towards bright colours, but do you know that the inside color of this season is INDIGO, which belongs to the blue family, so girls like blues and grays too. And coming to men, we all know the term metrosexual man, yes, that man who goes to the parlours and keeps himself in shape, also likes to wear bright colours which include pinks and oranges too. So please change this norm, every colour is liked by everyone!!

Men Don’t Cry

some myths that are not true

When Salman cries, girls find him too cute but when any other guy cries he is taunted- “Chal saale tu ladki hai jo ro raha hai?”

I personally am against this term. Ever since a boy is young, if he or she cries, the general perception is ‘boys don’t cry’ which later becomes’ men don’t cry’! Well, may I ask why? Men do cry whenever they feel hurt. It’s one of some myths that are not true but has fixed so deep in our brain that it looks right!

Do tears come, according to gender, or men lack emotions? Do women hold the sole proprietorship for crying and showing their emotions in public? Let me break the bubble folks, MEN DO CRY and they also vent out their emotions just like women do. Don’t believe me… Check out the latest newspaper in which THE Salman Khan cried on his friend’s prayer meet. And one thing is there, when men cry, they cry like babies and they also need that love and support. So let the tears flow… they don’t know who is a man or woman.

Men Gossip Like Women Too

some myths that are not trueYes, it’s true. Men love to gossip. Try stalking at a man’s phone and see how many WhatsApp groups he has and check out the conversations on them. They also love to gossip about everything and anything which even includes women. The topics can vary from another guy’s job to his looks and even to his girlfriend. So you see ladies, men also like to talk about others like us. We are not the only unique species on this earth who gossip.

Women Too Need Space

some myths that are not true

Why in a relationship, it’s always the man who utters the three famous words ‘I NEED SPACE’. Well guys, hold on, women also need the so called ‘space’. Right from an unmarried girl to a married mother, everyone needs that time with herself. Especially if you are married and have children and a house to look after, then it becomes absolutely essential to take that ‘space’ from time to time. In a way I feel, that the government should officially give a monthly 2-day mandatory leave for all women and let them enjoy their ‘space’… Not a bad idea. Anyone listening??

Men Need To Feel Needed

some myths that are not true

We all know that a woman can express her desire when she feels to be needed for the little things she does for her man, but do you know in reality a man also needs to feel needed too. A woman needs to show considerations towards man’s little actions. She ought to praise him for his hard works. It makes a man feel fulfilled with joy and a feeling of accomplishment and he tries to do more. If he does something for you, show concern and never point negatives of it. So girls, go and give your man a tight hug and kiss and let him know his importance in your life.

Romance- Men And Women Alike?

some myths that are not true

People say that when a woman falls in love, she goes out of her way to show the love and affection she has for her partner. She goes all over the world proclaiming her love for that special person and becomes a true blue romantic. You know the reality is a little different, we female might show their romance, but men are more romantic than us. They might not show the public display of affection, but the small gestures they do for lady love makes them a die-hard romantic.

Commitment Phobia- Men Only Or Not?

Men are known to be commitment probiotic when it comes to bringing a stability to a relationship, but ouch you know, in this day and age of social media, where relationships commence and break on WhatsApp and Tinder, its predominately the women who are becoming commitment averse. They need to be absolutely sure of the person before the classic ‘meet the parents’ happens. So the tag can now go to the women and men can take a sign of relief.

Men and women are different. Our brains are wired differently, our hormones are different and our emotional needs are different. Men tend to do for women what men need, and women do for men what women need. We tend to give what we want to receive. Indeed, the saying is right ‘Men are from mars and women from Venus’. We share a Tom and Jerry type relationship… Can’t live with them, can’t live without them!!
